Jim Alexander & Jim Schmidt started their business in 1986 as a firm devoted exclusively to loss control. Today, Alexander & Schmidt provides Risk Surveys and Risk Improvement for Twenty Two major insurers, as well as directly for businesses and insurance brokers.
Jim Schmidt began his insurance career in the loss control department of The Hartford in the 1970s. He worked in New York and Maine, calling upon various, large accounts. In 1984 he became Loss Control Manager of Penn General Services directing a staff to provide services to approximately $25,000,000 in worker's compensation premiums. Today, Jim manages the loss control service provided by A&S as well as performing field consulting work.
Sadly, Jim Alexander passed away in January 1999. He was a good friend and business partner whose presence will be missed.
