Alexander & Schmidt provides loss control services maintaining the highest professional standards. The account, the agent or the underwriter should not be able to tell the difference between an Alexander & Schmidt loss control product or the company's own staff.

Risk Assessment surveys on all lines of insurance coverage take place throughout the territory. While Alexander & Schmidt conducts most surveys for "mainstream" carriers, we also assess risks in the entertainment industry, sporting events/teams, arenas, fairs/carnivals, ski resorts, casinos, oil tank farms and other specialized classes.  Surveys are routinely conducted on small and middle market risks to large DIC's, fleets, products liability, fidelity and all other lines.

Assessments differ from "inspections" in that assessments involve the evaluation of exposures and existing loss controls. New, recommended controls are discussed with each insured.
Representatives attempt, professionally, to generate recommendation compliance.

Written Assessment Surveys are submitted in the format desired by the underwriting company.
Narrative and pre-printed form reports are used as directed by the underwriter.

Any assessment involving real property can be accompanied by Marshall & Swift/Boeckh Insurance to Value (ITV) calculation.

During 2007 almost 13,000 risk assessments were conducted on behalf of insurance underwriters.
